Montreal – The Canadian GP in Montreal on Sunday turned into a "tire battle." Despite a good start Nico Hulkenberg couldn’t benefit and finished only 13th.

At first the “Hulk” was eighth. Thanks to his hard tires he had advantage over the cars ahead of him, whose soft tires lost grip early in the race. But in round six the Williams driver collided with Adrian Sutil and he had to pick up a new front wing in the box.

After the “Hulk” went into the box the second time to pick up his new tires he crossed the speed limit in the pits and got a drive through penalty from the stewards. "These incidents have taken a lot of time," said the 22-year-old. "Points would have been clearly possible."

By the fourth pit stop in the last third of the race all chances were gone and the “Hulk” became 13th. "Sorry to the team. The car was much better than before, but I couldn’t implement it”, said the “Hulk”.

The McLaren drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button celebrated a double victory. Third was Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari.
